Body & Soul Day Spa and Salon is the first and only business of its kind in the Cheboygan area.  It is a combination of spa services with organic hair salon services.  Spa services include four different modalities of therapeutic massage, paraffin treatments, and waxing services.  Thai Herbal Ball Massage will be added to our menu of services soon!  These services are unique not only to the Cheboygan area, but also unique to greater northern Michigan.  Body & Soul is the only spa in the area that offers ashiatsu massage, and their paraffin treatments are unique in the way the services are offered, with a combination of massage with essential oils included with the paraffin treatment. 

Denise McCauslin has been a licensed cosmetologist in Michigan since 1999.  In June of 2006, she developed allergies to chemicals that are common to traditional hair salons, which research into these allergies has shown her that it is becoming more and more common, and often with debilitating results.  These adverse reactions are not only a danger to the stylist, but can also pose a health risk to the client.  She has researched chemical-free alternatives for hair care and  is pleased to offer an organic, chemical-free line that she has had no ill effects from.  There is a selection of shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids for retail sale as well.

The goal of Body & Soul Day Spa and Salon is to offer safe, effective treatments that lead us towards the total wellness concept.*   By combining spa services with safe alternatives to the traditional chemical-based hair services, Denise is  aligning offerings to achieve that goal.  There are no salons in the area that offer natural alternatives to these chemical services, especially in combination with therapeutic massage.
